A Look Back at 2024 With Trinasolar US

As we bid farewell to 2024, we wanted to share the highlights of a year marked by significant milestones, technological advancements, and strategic partnerships that have further solidified Trinasolar's position as an industry leader in the U.S. solar market.

Let's take a closer look at the key highlights that defined our year.

Advancing PV Technology and Innovating Solar Solutions

Since ushering in the n-type TOPCon revolution only a few years ago, Trinasolar's Vertex n-type TOPCon technology has been instrumental in enhancing the performance and reliability of U.S. solar projects.

Building on that established success, this year, Trinasolar introduced its next-generation n-type TOPCon Vertex modules, offering improved efficiency, performance, and reliability, including:

  • Vertex N: Powered by 210mm n-type TOPCon cells, Trina’s 720W Vertex N offers enhanced energy production with up to 23.2% efficiency, providing consistent reliability for utility-scale solar applications. The Vertex N 720W outperforms competitors, showing ultra-low degradation of just 1.6% in rigorous UV300 testing and setting new durability standards for the American market.

  • Vertex S+: A high-powered yet compact solution dedicated to residential solar applications, the Vertex S+ uses 210mm n-type TOPCon cells to provide 430W maximum power output and up to 21.5% efficiency.

  • New hail-and-wind-resistant n-type TOPCon Vertex modules: Designed with 3.2mm glass and a backsheet, the Vertex N 620W with up to 23% efficiency for C&I and utility-scale solar applications and the all-black 430W Vertex S+ with up to 21.5% efficiency for residential solar applications, deliver more resilience and protection against hailstorms than ever before. Vertex N modules for utility and C&I applications were third-party tested to withstand hailstones up to 55mm at 34 m/s and 65mm at a 60-degree impact angle, ensuring reliability in harsh environmental conditions.

  • 2000V Prototype: A breakthrough in PV technology, the 2000V prototype has the potential to lower LCOE even further by reducing balance-of-system (BOS) and labor costs.

Trina Capital Solutions

We introduced Trina Capital Solutions to help our customers mitigate lost costs, access capital providers, and improve returns. This initiative was highlighted during our participation in the pv magazine USA Week 2024, where we discussed how our financial solutions make solar more accessible and profitable for businesses nationwide.

Elementa 2 Energy Storage

Trina Storage solidified its position in the North American market by introducing the industry's first fully wrapped cell-to-AC energy storage solution. This innovative system, complemented by the launch of Elementa 2, powered by in-house battery cells, represents a significant step forward in providing comprehensive energy solutions and grid stability options for the growing renewable energy market. Trina Storage’s consistent recognition as a Tier 1 energy storage manufacturer by BNEF throughout 2024 further validates its market leadership.

Solar Industry Leadership and Certification

Trinasolar maintained its position on the BNEF Tier 1 list for another year. The company's commitment to quality and performance in the Vertex N series earned the title of 2024 Overall Highest Achiever by RETC and "2024 Top Performer" status for the tenth consecutive year. The full range of N-type Vertex modules also received carbon footprint certification from UL Solutions.

The company's presence at RE+ 2024 in Anaheim became a cornerstone event with the latest n-type TOPCon technology, hail-and-wind-resistant modules, and comprehensive, integrated energy solutions.

Project Highlights and Community Engagement

A standout project from 2024 was a partnership with Equinox Renewable Energy, LLC, for a 331 kW rooftop solar installation for Inspire Health, a charitable nonprofit healthcare organization. By utilizing the first batch of ultra-high-efficiency Vertex N modules with TOPCon technology available in the U.S. market, Equinox overcame the initial design challenges and delivered project success for Inspira.

Our efforts to build sustainable communities extend beyond solar installations. We continue planting our roots in Wilmer, Texas, through various educational programs and community outreach initiatives, such as participating in this year’s Dallas ISD Back to School Event.

On the Horizon for the 2025 US Solar Market

As we reflect on the past year, Trinasolar US is grateful for our team, loyal customers, and supportive partners who have made this year’s success possible.

Looking ahead to 2025, we’re excited about the year's opportunities. Trinasolar US remains focused on innovation, sustainability, and strengthening our partnerships to meet the country’s growing demand for solar energy and set the stage for future contributions to the U.S. renewable energy landscape.

Here's to another year of innovation, growth, and sustainable energy solutions!
